Proud to be a Gold Standard 4 Day Week Employer

We are delighted to share that we have been accredited by the 4 Day Week Campaign as a Gold Standard 4 Day Week Employer 🎉

When we started, back in 2017, we were a one woman band supporting clients - charities, social enterprises, women owned and independent businesses, co-ops - with social media and digital marketing strategy, planning, training and delivery, impact reporting, fundraising, and more. Along the way, we’ve done all sorts of other things too - we’ve built websites, run training courses for other organisations, explored data analytics, devised countless audience personas, live tweeted conferences, arranged and delivered conferences and event series, survived a pandemic…

Director Becky explains more…

92 Minutes was born of a desire to provide small organisations with a little bit of help to get heard. Being a small charity or tiny independent business shouldn’t mean you can’t get professional support for your marketing - after all, if no-one knows you’re there, how can you do your work?

I also wanted to create a good place to work, for me and anyone who joined as we grew. Having previously run a social enterprise that was at times very much a pressure cooker, I believe in life/work balance. The to do list never ends and there is always more that could be done. Working harder is not, always, the answer - I learned that the hard way, thinking that if I just pushed more, if I just did more, it would work. It didn’t. 5 days a week isn’t about the amount of work there is, it’s about arrangements. So I chose to work towards arranging things differently in this business.

The 4 Day Week model is a no-brainer for me. Two of us doing 4 days each means my business has 8 days of labour. When it was just me, it had five days of my labour, and I was more tired, more pressured, more worried about taking time out. If I was sick my business had no days - so I didn’t get sick! We’ve been able to grow, to take on more work by bringing in - and sharing - capacity.

I saw something on the 4 Day Week Twitter saying ‘I feel like I’m a person with a job not a job with a person’ and that felt exactly right. We’re people before we are our jobs. We are proud of the work we do and we don’t cut corners (ask us one day about the tools we’ve looked at that claim to save time and why we’ve rejected them..) but we’re people with jobs not jobs with people. Our service levels to our clients haven’t changed at all - we’d been trialling it for a few months and no-one noticed a thing.

We are proud to be here for our clients five days week. We are incredibly proud to be doing that while also accredited as a 4 Day Week Employer.
