How to post every day on social media by writing things once a week

Hello again everyone and how is the year going for you so far? This is our second week back and we’re just about clinging on to some Christmas spirit!

Last week we wrote about regularly sharing key messages about your organisation by using Evergreen Content - the write-once-post-many-times secret to posting regularly on social media.

This week we are going to talk about how to post on social media even while you are doing something else - Scheduling Tools.

Scheduling tools allow you to set up your content ahead of time. You create the content- whether that’s a tweet, a video, an image - and you put it into a piece of software that then shares it for you at a time and date you decide and set in advance.

This is fantastic for sharing content at times you won’t be online, or will be doing something else - but it’s also a real time saver. If you’ve got very little time, imagine what it would be like to sit down once a week, and schedule a load of content in one go, and know that for the next seven days it was going to just pop out onto whichever platforms you’ve chose, at the times you’ve selected- with no extra input from you? Genius, right?

There are MASSES of tools out there and we’re not even going to try to list them. We currently use one called Buffer (though we are always researching new ones) which we pay for.

BUT there are also FREE ways to do this

In Twitter, on desktop (not mobile at the moment) you can schedule a tweet by writing the tweet as normal, adding images or gifs as normal an then clicking the icon that looks like a calendar with a clock face on it as below

Then select the date and time from the options that come up

and then click confirm. Do this for something to go out every day - maybe two things a day or even three - and you’re all done!

You can also schedule Facebook and Instagram posts for free, using a tool called Facebook Business Suite This is free and we’ll write more about it soon - maybe go and explore it now.

Of course - we need to tell you we can do this with you or for you. But the great thing is, you can do it too! If we can help, give us a shout, otherwise, enjoy!
